beijing

what i liked about beijing:
* very cheap metro and bus system
* most scooters are powered by electricity, and thus are quiet and slow, unlike the motorcycles in taiwan
* cheap, vast collection of english textbooks

what i didn't like about beijing
* extremely bad air
* blocking of websites -- google is only functional sometimes; no fb, no news media from taiwan
* smoking in restaurants
